I upgraded a windows 2000 Pro pc with XP pro and now when I boot up the pc a
blue screen comes up with all kinds of error data. I tried to re-boot from CD
or floppy disk but no luck. Somehow cannot get to the bios screen to see if
the pc is booting up from the CD first then the hard disk. Any ideas how I
can get around this "blue screen"? I don't want to format the hard disk
because there is files I need to save.

Hello bruce,

FIRST i would try to boot with a BartPE disk and save the data and also create
an image from the disk. Even if you have blue screen. Then go on with trying
to get it running. Or if you have the data saved, make a clean install, the
better solution. And check that you have all drivers available for XP.

Also for the future, ALWAYS make a backup or image from the data/machine
if you do major tasks like this.

Best regards
